Supposed to meet Lucky Ducky for dinner last Sunday.
We ended up chatting the whole night away over MSN. We are inching towards nua-ism at its greatest level. My fault, mostly. The weather is keeping me at home, glued to my laptop like your everyday nerd.
I think it isn't very empathetic of me, but I smiled to myself silly when I read Ducky's post below. It feels like M:I IV to queue up at a bank on a weekday when you have a nine-to-five job... in her case, till six. She probably will never "get the damn card".
Maddie is cooking pasta for me tomorrow. I should at least try to look forward to work. There are worse things that can happen to you... along the lines of having to work but there isn't any pasta waiting for you. I count my blessings more often these days. Just like how a staunch old nun endlessly chant her prayers with her rosary beads when things can't go more wrong than finding out a sister had eloped with another...
I digress. It's a story from another friend.

I actually met Pearl for dinner today. To make up for yesterday, I suppose. It's nice to eat with a skinny girl who eats a lot. It gives you hope. Hope that you can eat all you want without gaining an ounce.
We decided a slice of cod that costs over $20/++ is way overpriced for us meagre middle-class workers who suffer and remain maligned in a big, cruel and stingy corporation.
We ended up with more affordable dining in Fish & Co. Fish all the same... with sunshiney staff who seems twice enthusiastic compared to Ngee Ann Poly's cheerleading team. Just check out their birthday song for any patron who happen to celebrate his/her birthday at Fish & Co. Anyway, I realise people do like to celebrate their birthdays in F&C. I, myself did so twice in my teenhood. I don't quite remember why. But maybe it has something to do with eating fish on your birthday.
We bitched about work, of course... and many other things. We've grown up quite a bit, especially Pearl. She has outdone herself, our girl. *dab misty eyes*
